Strengthening Communities Through Education

Digital Bridges 4 Nepal brings technology and an innovative collaborative education model to rural Nepali communities - so students have the opportunity  they deserve!

NOT A LAB – A LEARNING HUB
CLASSROOM
The Collaborative Learning Environment Center (CLEC) strengthens school-based education by integrating digital infrastructure, interactive learning tools, and teacher support systems. It transforms classrooms into engaging, technology-enabled spaces that enhance learning outcomes and equip students with essential 21st-century skills.
COMMUNITY

Beyond schools, CLEC functions as an inclusive community learning and training hub, providing youth women’s groups  and communities with access to digital literacy, skills development, and livelihood-oriented training. It fosters local capacity building, empowerment, and equitable access to learning opportunities in  rural and underserved areas.

Impact stories

Real people. Real change.
From the communities we serve.

“I used the CLEC to learn.
Now I’m going back to teach!”

"Ang Datee grew up in the remote mountain village of Sotang. When DB4N installed a CLEC at her campus, she was one of the first students to use it. She graduated with a Bachelor of Education — and then decided to go further. She’s now pursuing a Master’s degree, with plans to return and teach in rural Nepal."

“12 Schools. 8 Wards. One e-Village.”

"The CLEC has already become a hub for meetings, learning, and community engagement. With 8 high schools and 2 ward offices now operational, our e-Village vision is becoming reality — and we're on track to reach all 12 schools and 8 ward offices by April 2026. Meaningful transformation, it turns out, starts with a smart board and a room full of willing learners."

"Talent Shouldn't Depend on Zip Code.”

“My name is Suravi Budhathoki, a Grade 10 student originally from Khotang, now studying in Triyuga. I aspire to become an engineer and pursue science. CLEC has made learning more interactive by allowing us to collaborate, use technology, and solve problems together. It has built my confidence in using laptops for my future studies. I believe such opportunities should reach every district, especially for talented students with limited resources.”

“I didn’t just build the furniture.
I helped build the future.”

"Saugat started as a local furniture supplier when DB4N came to Sotang in 2019. That first project became a partnership — and a calling. He’s now designed CLEC rooms at multiple sites across Nepal, blending his craft with a deep belief in what these spaces make possible for students and communities."

“I didn’t just build the furniture.
I helped build the future.”

"As a teacher at Shree Jageshwori Secondary School, CLEC training gave me practical tools — project-based learning, rubrics, student-centered methods — that I simply didn't have before. The shift in my classroom has been real, and the impact on my students is only beginning."

“No Child Left Behind by Geography!”

"Growing up in Mustang, I know firsthand what it means to face barriers of geography and access. Through CLEC at Shree Janahit Secondary School, Jomsom — established together with SANA Foundation (USA), DB4N, the school community, and alumni — students are gaining digital skills and global exposure, and teachers are embracing ICT-based learning. No child should be left behind because of where they were born."

“Ten Minutes From Home, Miles Ahead”

“My name is Babita Pandey from Kaligandaki-2, Syangja, and I am a Grade 12 student at Shree Adarsha Secondary School. My school is just a 10-minute walk from my home, and my family is engaged in farming. I am very happy to be part of the CLEC program. It has created a space where we learn together through group discussions and by sharing knowledge. CLEC is not just helping us in our studies—it is preparing us for our future.”

"Rooted in Tradition, Ready for Tomorrow”

"The importance of our culture and tradition is reducing due to modernization and we should preserve it. We should teach moral studies to the students. The CLEC approach helps students to work in collaboration. When they work in a group the source of knowledge is more; the thing I might not know may be known by their friends and they could also find it on Google.”

"My First Computer Was at School”

"I used the computer for the first time in school when I was in grade 8. And I learned about new things by watching videos in the CLEC. When the teacher is teaching using the CLEC room, we understand better by watching the videos on the TV.”

"From Teacher-Led to Self-Driven”

“We are in the digital age now. Students are learning on their own, aided by technology. We used to solely rely on teachers to acquire knowledge. Now, students can learn independently with the help of CLEC.”
