GORKHA
Scouting trip August 05-07,2022
The DBForN team led by chairman Mr. Jhabindra Kumar Subedi reached Tandrang ward no. 02, Gorkha around 6:30 pm. Due to the monsoon weather, the road was challenging and we had to change our vehicles because of the landslides.
Mr.Ramchandra Lamichhane, the school coordinator, received us at the school. Though it was getting dark in the evening, we insist on visiting the school. Many teachers were present to welcome us. The place was very beautiful and mesmerizing but there weren’t any lodges or guest houses nearby so we had to spend the night in a cozy room,
On the second day, the school organized a meeting with S.M.C., teachers, and Mayor, and some other representatives from the ward and municipality. Mr. Jhabindra provided all the information about the organization, its objectives, specifics about the CLEC, and the costs for everything. All the people were very happy and welcoming. The mayor was even happier because this kind of project was exactly what he's been fighting to bring to the municipality. He assured us that he will do everything he can to make this project a success.
On Aug 07, the team returned to Kathmandu safely.

After the completion of the training session, the school held a hand-over ceremony of the CLEC. We were so much delighted that one of the most critical partners for Gorkha, Mr. Ganesh Lammichhane, President of the Lions Club of Baltimore Nepalese came all the way from the USA to join us in the ceremony. We received many applause and appreciation letter and token of love from the school and municipality. The Mayor of the municipality was also present in the ceremony and thanked us for such a wonderful project and wanted more CLECs in other schools of the municipality.
Follow-Up:
When DB4N team returns back to Kathmandu, they follow up with the CLEC teachers in a weekly basis. The remote connection(Camera) in the CLEC room helps both teachers and DB4N team to connect with each other. They discuss about the class schedule, students' reactions and engagement in CLEC, and other technical issues
