Anne Corwith
Anne received her Ph.D. in International Education Policy focused on Education in Emergencies from the University of Maryland. Previously, Anne worked at the Institute of International Education on U.S. Department of State-funded education programs as Director of Finance and Administration for the Fulbright Scholars Program and Deputy Director for the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program.
Anne spent seven years working on educational programs in Russia, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Switzerland. She speaks French, is conversant in Spanish and Russian and is hoping to learn Nepali.
In her spare time, Anne loves to backpack, hike, and rock climb. She has served on the board of the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club and volunteers on a trail crew that helps maintain the Appalachian Trail and other hiking trails where she lives.
Anne visited Nepal in 2016 to volunteer as an English language teacher in the district of Singapalchowk. She returned to Nepal in 2017 to conduct her Ph.D. studies on the humanitarian response for education after the 2015 earthquakes. Anne hopes through her involvement with Digital Bridges 4 Nepal to help empower and support local communities to determine their own path to development.
