The Mithila of Terai! This beautiful art has been around for centuries and was passed down from mother to daughter, where it decorated the walls of their homes. Typically, this gorgeous artwork narrated mythological and religious events, but also documented social commentary, and promoted values of humanity, friendship and peace. Recently, the art has taken up a more collectable art form and is painted on canvases of rough paper, which has opened up new entrepreneurship opportunities to the women of rural Nepal. For more on this amazing artwork, the Mithila Center in Queens, New York is having a virtual Art Exhibition and Auction April 14th-17th, 2021. https://www.mithilacenter.org/
